
NEDA Regional Office XI, as a member of the National Task Force Diwalwal-Project Monitoring and Coordination Center (NTFD-PMCC), who, together with other PMCC member-agencies, spearheaded the preparation of the Diwalwal Mineral Reservation Area Development Plan (DMRADP), 2012-2032, , joins the #LihokAlangSaNaboc Kick-off Program, an activity led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) XI through the Provincial Task Force Naboc River (PTFNR), on March 16, 2019 at the Monkayo Dome, Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province. The program aims to clean-up and rehabilitate the Naboc River which has been polluted by indiscriminate disposal of mine tailings from artisanal mining operations. The activity is a priority program of the Duterte administration and one of the projects identified in the DMRADP, 2012-2032. The 3-day program also included the issuance of Cease and Desist Orders to ball-millers and carbon-in-pulp (CIP) operators and to immediately transfer informal settlers to the Mabatas resettlement area. – Jaime P.
