The NEDA Regional Office (NRO) XI conducted a 5-day Succession Planning Workshop: Competency Assessment, Building and Intervention Effectiveness Assessment with Dr. Lorenzo F. Templonuevo, an HRDM Consultant as facilitator. The NRO XI top management represented by RD Maria Lourdes D. Lim and OIC-ARD Mae Ester T. Guiamadel, participated in the activity along with CAO Concepcion C. Anaud, SAO Ireneo C. Gerodias, Jr. and AO IV Ruth C. Lasquite of the Finance and Administrative Division (FAD). This NRO XI Human Resource Development and Management (HRDM) Team shall be the core group in the NRO who shall spearhead the operationalization of a competency-based HRD Plan in the NRO.

The activity constitutes Phase 2 of NRO XI’s Succession Planning Initiative which aims to enhance the NRO XI 5-Year Human Resource Development (HRD) Plan, CY 2014-2018.  Phase 1, which was conducted on December 18-20, 2013, aimed to generate Position/Competency Profiles of the CEDS/CAO, SEDS/SAO and Sr. EDS/Acct III.

The 5-day activity involved the validation of the assessment tools formulated by Dr. Templonuevo; the administration of the competency assessment tools to identified cases from the three focused positions and processing of the results; identification of interventions to address the identified gaps; identification and development of Schemes to Assess Effectiveness of Interventions; and preparation of Competency Matrix for each of the identified cases that represents the staff’s career path options. (RLasquite, NEDA XI)
