(Davao City, 16 October 2019). At least 120 representatives from Agency Regional Offices (AROs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) and Local Government Units (LGUs) gathered for the Consultation-Workshop on the Midterm Updating of the Davao Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP) for the period 2020-2022. The RDIP contains the list of priority programs, activities and projects (PAPs) that shall support the achievement of the development objectives in the Davao Regional Development Plan (RDP) for the remaining three (3) years of the Duterte Administration.

The event, which was conducted at the NEDA-RDC XI Center in Davao City, provided a venue for implementing NGAs/SUCs/GOCCs and LGUs to discuss and recommend priority PAPs that shall be implemented in Davao Region. Plenary and sectoral discussions were conducted for this purpose.
In her message, Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim, Interim Chairperson of the RDC XI, stressed the importance of the consultation activity as this shall strengthen the horizontal and vertical linkages of plans and investment programs of national and local governments. She also highlighted the need to channel government resources to the target priority areas of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) as mandated under Executive Order (EO) No. 70 or the Whole-of-Nation Approach in Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace.
The updated Davao RDIP for 2020-2022 is expected to be approved by the RDC XI Full Council in December 2019. This document shall be used as the primary reference in the preparation of agency budget proposals in the ensuing fiscal years.
