(Davao City, 24 JULY 2023). The conduct of capacity building activity to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) XI on the RDC XI Document Management System (DMS) developed by Davao del Sur State College – Information and Communications Technology Center (DSSC-ICTC) marked a significant milestone in the NRO’s efforts toward digital transformation. This activity shall equip the NEDA XI staff, the end-users, to operate, manage, maintain, and navigate the features of the RDC XI DMS to promote digital connectivity and transparency in our processes effectively and efficiently
The DSSC resource speakers, led by Dr. Felomino P. Alba, DSSC-ICTC Director, and Jay Eugene Vann Espinosa, Sr. Web Developer, along with NEDA XI technical staff and process owners, participated in a capacity-building/training program for the information system. The RDC XI Document Management System shall reduce turn-around time in monitoring activities and actions taken by the RDC XI Full Council Members and RDC XI Sectoral / Special Committee Members. Additionally, the DMS aims for continual improvement of the NRO’s Quality Management System (QMS) in support of its mandate to provide technical support services as the RDC XI Secretariat.
In her message, DSSC President Augie Fuentes, said that the partnership between the NEDA-RDC XI and DSSC is a key to unlocking the true potential of technological innovation (TI). She added that by collaborating with other NGAs and SUCs in Davao Region, the DSSC can gain access to diverse perspectives and insights to drive innovation forward for the larger society.
RD Maria Lourdes Lim expressed her gratitude to the DSSC President and administrators for the realization of this partnership and stated this is only the beginning of a productive collaboration.
In closing, ARD Gilberto A. Altura provided an overview of the ways forward, emphasizing the integration of additional features into the information system, i.e. on the ability to generate reports, as well as, the preparation of the implementing guidelines in the utilization of the RDC XI Documents management System.
The digitalization of NEDA XI’s processes remains an Office priority heeding President Marcos’ and NEDA Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan’s call for greater efficiency in government processes through digital transformation.
