The Regional Development Council (RDC) in Davao hosted a Consultation-Workshop with the Region’s Communication for Development Network (C4DNet XI) Officers and RDC XI Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) to generate inputs to the Communication and Advocacy Plan (CAP) on the Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP), 2023-2028, on December 20, 2022 at the Malagos Garden Resort, Baguio District, Calinan, Davao City. The C4DNet XI Officers, composed of information officers of local government units, regional line agencies, and state universities and colleges in Davao Region, together with the RDC XI PSRs, provided their recommendations on actions desired, targeted messaging, delivery methods/platform, and timelines of proposed advocacy activities for DRDP stakeholders.

Resource persons during the Consultation-Workshop were Prof. Nelfa Glova, Chairperson of the Department of Humanities, University of the Philippines – Mindanao, who shared theoretical perspectives on Development Communication, and Mr. Derf Hanzel Maiz, Head of the Social Communication Center, Holy Cross of Davao College, who discussed applications of Digital Strategies in Development and Crisis Communication. The consultation-workshop is the first of a series of activities in line with the formulation of the DRDP 2023-2028 CAP and the RDC XI Agenda Setting for 2023-2025.
