Commission on Population and Development (CPD) XI RD Bai Agnes Sampulna and ARD Linadores Delicana paid a courtesy visit to NRO XI RD Maria Lourdes D. Lim given the recent reattachment of the CPD (previously the Commission on Population) to the NEDA, based on Executive Order No. 71.  EO 71 putting emphasis on CPD’s mandate in the formulation of plans, programs, and policy recommendations on population as it relates to socioeconomic development.  The brief meeting highlighted CPD’s role in supporting development efforts towards achieving the demographic dividend, which is Chapter 13 of the Philippine and Davao Regional Development Plan 2017-2022.  Initial activities that may be undertaken include an orientation of major stakeholders on population and development and the possibility of creating a Regional Population Sub-committee under the RDC XI-Social Development Committee to shepherd efforts on population and development concerns.
