RD Maria Lourdes Lim is new NEDA XI Regional Director


A new leadership. Incoming NEDA XI Regional Director Maria Lourdes D. Lim encourages her staff to help her lead the office to reach new heights of achievements and pursue the office commitments with its development partners towards Davao Region's development during a program welcoming her to the region.

Director Maria Lourdes Damaso Lim is the new Regional Director of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office XI. RD Lim assumed the past vacated by Regional Nicasio Angelo J. Agustin who recently retired from the government service. She is also now the Vice-Chair of the Regional Development Council (RDC) XI.

Director Lim, who hails from Cotabato City, joined NEDA in 1978 as Development Researcher in NEDA Region XII, Cotabato City. She rose from the ranks and became the assistant regional director of NEDA XII in 1990 and eventually its regional director in 1996. While in Region XII, RD Lim held several positions in numerous organizations, including those related to the development of SOCSKSARGEN area. She also heads various oversight committees and special projects. She authored numerous publications and other scholarly works which include a paper on Mainstreaming the Southern Philippines Council for Peace and Development: Establishing Effective Linkages Among the Key Development Bodies in Southern Philippines.

The new NEDA XI head is not new to Davao Region as she finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at the Ateneo de Davao University in 1978 and briefly worked as one of the university’s college faculty before joining NEDA. RD Lim finished her master’s degree in economics at the UP-Diliman School of Economics where she also took her doctorate studies. She was also conferred a PH. D. in Institutional Development and Management, honoris causa. She is a career executive and has been conferred the rank of CESO II.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS (LGUS), NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES (NGAS), STATE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES (SUCS), PRIVATE PEOPLE’S ORGANIZATION CAN AVAIL OF THE NEDA KR2 PRODUCTIVITY ENHANCEMENT PROJECT

The NEDA-KR2 Productivity Enhancement Project can provide funding support to community agri-based activities than aim to enhance productivity and increase rural income of underprivileged farmers, augmenting national resources available for such activities in the process.

The activities to be supported under the Project are catalytic in nature, and essentially are applications of best practices, pilot testing of new techniques/processes/ procedures, prototyping or applications of new products or technologies, as well as innovative value-formation initiatives leading to enhanced productivity. These activities will also be complementary and closely aligned or linked to national and local government economic and social programs for replication, thereby contributing to the achievement of the government’s envisioned development goals.

Proponents are given the flexibility in terms of the component/s of the proposal.
